Its early morning pick up for divers, 6.30 am in Protaras then its the two hour journey up the motorway to Limassol Marina where we met our other divers along with the Boat Captain, Tony Regan owner & Instructor at TD Diving in Limassol. Dive team included myself as the dive guide, Ian Saunders, Edna Yamasaki and her two daughters Helena & Ivi. With the minimum diver level being PADI Master Scuba Diver, the dives should be easy and all go according to plan, which they did.
The journey to the dive sites was a pleasant boat ride on TD Divings RIB on the flat Limassol sea. On arrival at the dive site we were met by three other boats. One full of divers and the other empty but with free divers bobbing around on the surface. So far everything was perfect.
The only let down for the day was the visibility on the wrecks and this was due to the amount of inexperienced wreck divers kicking up the silt and a group of free divers descending directly onto the wreck.
Considering both wrecks were only scuttled 6 years ago, the degradation of the wrecks is extremely surprising, just goes to show how destructive sea water can be.
Both dives were carried out with ease, not surprising considering the level of divers withiin the team for the days diving. from seeing the two wrecks for the first time, we were fortunate enough to see the huge Grouper on the wreck and some beautiful Nudibrancs.
A very good days diving for all the team, unfortunately the visibility hindered the quality of photographs taken.
